Description
The logotype was inspired by military decorations and honours, because filling the presidency of the European Union is though an honour and should be worn with respect. The sign was to support this message.
The sign is also a human figure raising a star of the European Union's flag, stating its leading position. Carrying the star also refers to taking up the presidency.
The national flags stand as the clearest way of identifying a nationality. The sign with its colours refers to the European Community and reflects on the standalone nations as well, and their position shows the actual leading nation. The typography adapts itself to the sign, showing the community position and the leader in position among the trio of the presidency.
